Discount high street retailer Poundland has been bought by an American firm for an estimated £200m.

Proof that the "pile it high, sell it cheap" ethos works for some people.

I still have bitter memories of going to an "Everything's a Dollar" shop and carefully selecting 5 items with my $5 pocket money then getting to the checkout and .. everything was a dollar, PLUS sales tax. bds.
