Election 2010: Call the Result
Discussion
Right oh lads, polls open in under 24 hours, it's decsion day and in 2 or 3 days we'll have a result of sorts. Whether that is a formed goverment or several days of negotiating to get we're going to get something.
So call it, right now, what do you think we're going to end up with come Friday and later down the line? And then we can see what we actually get as tomorrow night unfolds....
Personally I'd like to see a single party goverment but my prediction is a Lab/Lib-Dem coalition once Brown has been forced out as leader of the party.
Over to you...

I've 'insured' myself against a Labour or Libdem majority by chucking a few quid on each of them to win: So if they get a majority the country will be ****ed but at least I'll have a couple of hundred quid to cheer me up.
I reckon it will be a hung parliament, but I'm hoping for a Tory win on the basis that more people will vote for them than would admit to it in the polls.
(edit for spelling.)

My predictions have always been wrong. But I'm going with a slim Tory majority.
The polls don't accurately reflect the marginals in which CMD and his mob have been spending cash like it's going out of fashion. So I reckon they may do better than the polls show. As to whether it will be enough? Maybe.

Polls indicate no overall majority and yougov indicate3s a Tory 'win' in votes but loss to labour in terms of seats won.
Looks very likely that Liebour will be invited to form the next govt if they can form a workable coallition.
Given that Libs are more left-leaning than Labout I can't see the Tories forming a coalition with them.

Tories win most seats (just) but we have a Lib/Lab pact. Winky to stay on as PM for a few months until a new Labour leader is elected (Millipede).
I called this in the other thread last wednesday. And now the whole horrible saga's unfolding in front of our eyes. Unfortunately I had a business call and have missed the last forty minutes of car crash telly. And yes, this is exactly what Mandelson planned. The man is a genius. An evil genius who whiffs of Egoiste and sleeps on - so I'm told by the estate agent who sold his flat - purple satin sheets. But a genius none the less.

Hung. No coalition agreed on, second election called in short order.
Do you think that would produce a different result? More people voting tactically?Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
