Was there any seats that the Tories would have won if UKIP hadn't been on the cars? They seemed to have a preety poor result from what I saw last night, was just wondering if they stole a few votes from the Conservatives that would have made a diference anywhere....?

Anyone with stats?

Cheers

Not that I've seen. Lib took Eastbourne with 3000 (was con 600 maj) which really shouldn't have happened. UKIP around 1000 I think

Why are the BBC only giving the figures for the top 3 parties? In the past they always gave ALL the results.

Nearly a million votes to UKIP and not a single seat? 10 times as many votes for Labour and 247 seats?

fk off.

rofl You have to be kidding, surely? I can only assume you haven't actually looked?

UKIP voters have basically fked this entire country over!!!

Not all the seats have been counted yet, and we can't really assume that all UKIP voters would've voted Tory if UKIP hadn't fielded a candidate, but in many cases it would've only taken half or less of the UKIP voters to vote Tory to change the result.

Below is a role of shame of the nineteen constituencies so far which have been gifted to the Lib Dems or Labour by UKIP voters.

Well done UKIP voters. You must be very proud! furious

Seats won by Lib Dems where UKIP vote was bigger than the gap to the Tories

Somerton & Frome
Wells
Dorset & Poole North
Solihull
St Austell & Newquay

Seats won by Labour where UKIP vote was bigger than the gap to the Tories

Southampton Itchen
Telford
Finchley & Golders Green
Derby North
Derbyshire North East
Great Grimsby
Morley & Outwood
Walsall North
Walsall East
Newcastle under Lyme
Wirral South
Bolton West
Middlesborough South & Cleveland East
Plymouth Moor View

Well, perhaps if the Tories weren't doing their best to be Lib Dems and had sensible economic policies, ie:- getting the fk out of Europe now, they would have won.

Don't blame the public, blame the Tories for not being Tories.

Yes, I'd like to congratulate the UKIP voters for enabling Labour to retain power for another 5 years with Brown likely to be the PM, in a Lib/Lab pact. Indeed 2 europhile parties will probably govern for the next 5 years, instead of a eurosceptic Tory government. Given the economic climate in Europe I'd like to especially congratulate the UKIP voters on their wise choice. :roll eyes:

Tories? Eurosceptic? What planet are you on?

If they raise the EU issue, the party splits down the middle, which is why they don't.

That's an oxymoron based on the absurd assumption that other EU countries would let the UK pick and choose which bits of the benefits of EU membership we kept were we to leave.

Yes, it splits the party, hence their is some scepticism about Europe in the Tory party, unlike Labour/Lib Dems, or do you dispute that?
