Sounds like he's just hinting that they'd be open to a coalition in return for electoral reform to me, so what's new?

They've made it clear that the Tories should have the opportunity to govern, not Labour. That's great news, if he sticks to it.

Labour didn't realistically have the opportunity to govern anyway - even with the Lib Dem support, they wouldn't have an overall majority, would they?

Bad bad bad. Clash of ideologies. As someone else said, it will be like the Communazi party.

It will be like...

...trying to go for a run. Perhaps that is a crap analogy as at least they can go "left! right! left! right! " whereas all we will see is Lib Dem bullst interfering with the process like a rope tangled around the propellor of this country.

We need a crap outcome and then another crack at the whip in due course!

This mediocre nonsense is a worst case scenario. As I've always said, Lib Dems are even worse than Labour.

Yes, Labour can constitutionally try and form a government, despite having a huge minority.

Agreed 100% - this is possibly disasterous for the Tories.

Lib/Lab coalition is more suited to each parties desired outcomes.

This is possibly the best scenario out of all of them, even a Tory win.

They are not hinting at a coalition - Ashdown on now saying that they have the right to seek govt. Speculation now the Tories could form a minority govt.

Very interesting.

They do but as mentioned previously it's all hot air.

Clegg has handed the keys to No 10 to CMD with an unknown price tag and the only issue for clarification is what's on the tag. Pundit discussion so far mentioned that earlier on Clegg has said that pr would not be the main sticking point on doing a deal as the economy was the major issue 'in the national interest' so it's a case of seeing whether he says national interest but really means lib dem interest. Such transparent confusion is not going to be pulled over the electorate's eyes.

If the Lib Dems let them take a minority government, they'll certainly go up in my estimation.

It's an outrage for Clegg to betray all those voters who cast their vote for LibDem on the premise that they are a left-wing party.

And now he wants to enable the Tory locusts to form a government ?

Pretty shabby work from Clegg.

Don't be too dissapointed with a Labour/Liberal coalition. Whoever governs over the next year is going to take a lot of flack from the general public who will, by and large, completely forget Brown's legacy and blame the incumbent. There will be no doubts of a Conservative najority if Lib/Lab run the country for 6 months. The whole thing will come crashing down, especially if Brown clings to power.

One upside of a Tory minority government is that it will give them time to get their hands on the real figures that Labour have swept under the carpet etc... expose them and then at the height of ourtrage, call a snap election.

Conservatives have the best hope of sorting this country right and if they go for an IMF MOT, they protect themselves from the oppositions mud slinging.

Best case if the above doesn't happen for people who want it to happen is a Lib/Lab coalition. That way, they will bumble along, break the country properly and kill themselves in the future post IMF driven cuts.

Fing is, Lib Dems know that if they do this, they will be soiling their own nests so may not agree to this.

Uver fing is, with a Con/Lib coalition, CMD knows that it will kill him for the future.

I see this as a really really st outcome for the country.

Con/Lib is the worst possible outcome. Really horrendous. It fks the long term solution up. (we'll assume that the soc-dems don't change their ideology)
