Looks like a fairly new Airbus A330-200.

I used to travel to Johannesburg a lot - now I know what that airline was!!

Very sad

[oobster]

There's some footage on the BBC news website, not a lot of large chunks of the plane left.

[Puggit]

Sky are reporting a sole survivor - 8 year old boy, uninjured.

I hope he receives the help he will so badly need.

[Gaffer]

Details are sketchy at the moment, can't see what happened, I know the Afriqiyah planes aren't that old.
TIP airport is going to be a mess, will cause massive delays unless they re-route to Mitega Airport.

I am booked on BA now, although with those strikes, not sure when I will get back into Libya...I wanna go home..!

condonlences to all involved

Claire
