fking wk!

I was getting 5% AER on my online saver a while ago now it is something like 0.85%.

WTF!

Why is the cash I have prudently saved being blasted away by inflation?

I am fking pissed off about this.

Yeah but they just happen, but ---someone--- decided to rape my savings.

It is like saving anything is a futile exercise due to forces beyond your control taking any plans you make and throwing them out the window.

It is ok however as soon the resources will run out and cities will rise up on giant hydraulic legs to fight a series of wars for the last remaining supplies.

I dilligently put aside a nice chunk of money which is now being erroded at a rate not much different to a nice 993 Turbo. Hmmmm....

I really should be feathering my nest for the future, not thinking 'fk it I might as well buy a 911'.

Go for it, I think a car like that would be a better store of value than GBP!

My savings were being murdered as my bank decided to drop the rate from 3.6% after tax to 0.05%.

So now my savings are not earning any interest but they are offset against my mortgage.

My mortgage rate is higher than any savings rate I could currently get, at least if I don't want them tied in.

I saw a letter in a newspaper not very long ago from a widow who had put £50K (everything she had, apparently) into Marconi shares and thought it was completely unacceptable that her money had gone and that "something should be done about it". rolleyes

I had the same problem with my savings account (the current account gets far more interest but only on the first 1K in there) so I went out and bought an Elise biggrinbiggrin

fk off.

Cash in a bank is not fking shares.

My interest is effectively set by the state...they decided to punish prudent savers and reward reckless borrowers by slashing interests rates.

It's political.

What's political exactly? You can still get 3-4% with a bit of looking around...You just need to pull your head out of your arse wink
