I had what I reckon is a good idea for the punishment of this -
They are 17 and 19 years old according to the article.
How about, if they have drivers licenses, they are revoked until the full costs of the mechanic, and time of the air ambulance is recovered in full directly from them - I am assuming we are talking a minimum of £3-5k here. Plus a generous £1000 donation to the air ambulance. If they own a car in their name, car is sold at auction to cover some of that cost.
Until that is paid in full, no drivers license.
This would be on top of 3 months community service.
Reality -
Suspended sentence for 1 year perhaps - no fine.

Can't they map their brains whilst showing pictures of violent behaviour then inject a disabling agent into the relevant grey matter that is most active.
A 9mm disabling agent. FFS, what is wrong with these scum? I hope they get their names and pictures published so that the parents of that poor baby (and anyone else who wants to)can go "have a chat"....
Automatic 6 month jail sentence for anyone interfering with the emergency services.
Or (this may seem weird to some), dye their heads bright blue so everyone can point and stare and see what t
ts they've been. Aimed at causing maximum embarrassment. Some see community service or ASBO's as a badge of honour.

Kent Air Ambulance are not exactly squeaky clean themselves, they often use dubious tactics to generate charitable income.
Example - school child falls over and breaks ankle, air ambulance dispatched and lands on school field. School is then encouraged to perform get involved with charity collections on behalf of air ambulance.
Whilst I am sure the service is needed, they attend an awful lot of non-life threatening injuries if they can get money out of it.

To be fair though, it is a good cause that hopefully none of us will need but would be very grateful of in an emergency. If they have to keep up their profile with some strategic deployments, so what?
Our local mountain bike trail has had so many air ambulance landings recently, they've now cleared an area an painted a big "H" on the ground.

I don't think that is too dubious really.I mean, there is no shortage of charities using emotional blackmail in TV adverts and chuggers etc..
As a motorist, I think we should support this no matter what, one day we might need it.
