Yes. And the massive undercurrent of 'entitlement' is pissing me off more than a little. Not to mention 'get those rich bankers'. It may as well have been a BBC production.

Blame the equality myth.

With the opportunity for equality comes the expectation of entitlement to achieve it without actually working for it.

It's one of Labour's most poisonous legacies.

And, surprise surprise, the public sector non jobbers don't want a pay cut.

ETA- and the road charging vote went on during the adverts. Tossers. These people should be rounded up and put in a field.

Now the London centric rainbow nation guardian readers have voted for road pricing during the ad break, bit like the EU doing things we didn't vote for...

They wouldn't know what a field was, they've only ever been further than the suburbs to catch a plane (carbon offset... not, other people shouldn't fly).

I wouldn't mind £10 to see the GP. It would stop a lot of the time wasting that goes on, and make people think about their health a bit. The NHS is a dreadful mess, and privatisation would at least offer some hope of change. It certainly isn't going to happen while the NHS comprises some 2M Labour voters.

Oddly enough a tenner to see my doctor doesn't seem that bad, I mean I see my doctor very rarely, and if it meant people didn't miss appointments and I could see my doctor alot sooner when I need to, then I'd consider it. I pay the dentist £15 a month!

Although the private health guy now on championing private health, is vested interest, allegedly cheaper health care, by introducing a private sector profit motive. USA! Health tourism got an interesting reaction!

I would support it, but only if everyone had to pay it. Not discriminated across tax bands and other such twaddle.

Did they chop Trident? And how much would withdrawing from the EU Human Rights Act, and taking back control of our borders save?

Give them a chance.

They have 13 years of brainwashing to overcome, all whilst trying to avoid social disorder, these things take time, grasshoppers...

True. It will take a while for them to realise no one is taking any notice of them any more.

100 billion?

Not enough.

They need to tax or save circa 170 billion to stop going deeper into the red (at circa 150 billion a year) and pay of the debt over fifty years (i.e. 20 billion x 50 = 1 trillion).

Thats 170 billion every year for fifty years.

It's odd.

I'm working up in West Yorkshire for a week - and I cannot watch the local news on tv in the evenings anymore. Tv will get broken.

There is this under current of "victim" and "entitlement" in the articles, especially the ones revolving around cuts.

For instance, one was a centre for coffin dodgers to meet up and socialise. Apparently their funding has been axed. And a very nice northern lady - the organiser - came on screen and said "they better not cut our funding or there will be trouble". Now, accounting for the fact that petrol is so expensive that I doubt the blue rinse could get to London, and doubting that batteries in their buggies will get them to the M1 let alone down it, I did feel it was an odd threat "there will be trouble".

Had it not occured to these people that if they wanted to socialise, they could maybe visit each other? You know, in their own homes for instance? They all have carers, so why not make use of them, or let the youngest fogey make tea.

And the organiser - why couldn't she get a proper job. One to do with wealth creation, rather than council spend?

But these articles are all about entitlement. Everyone is owed. Everyone is a victim.

And above all, the undercurrent that they were helpless....
