Unfortunately I wouldn't call it unbelievable at all. Normal corrupt officials.

Was Khan the one who paid the bribe? It's not that clear from the article. A bit more grist for the EDF mill by the sounds of it.

Hardly surprising, and I doubt it's a rare case either, just "unfortunate" for the prosecutor that he was found out.

Police sting, Nick Baker was undercover cop and Khan was a 'middleman', still to be tried!

£20k to get caught, we will probably never know how much he made.

That is a good point. If it was a police sting, there must be a reason it was mounted.

Still, as an ethnic minority prosecution barrister he'll be very popular in prison.

I agree.

He's probably been grafting at this for years.

He'll get a long stretch - judges don't like members of the Bar who go bent.

As I said, his ringpiece will be like an onion ring by the time he gets out.

They came to the attention of the Police as they met some drug dealers who were under surveillance. Just some friends meeting up, apparently. rolleyes

It wasn't even £20K in this case, it was £10K each.

I trust the CPS are going to start looking at cases he's been involved in and, if they suspect shenanigans, bring charges against the relevant people again?
