(I only use the above website as it had the best pictures)
Well Im not sure about you but after looking at it and indeed this picture:

I would indeed need to be sorting most of the cargo to take mu mind off some of the constructions of it especially that wooden plank and the metal bindings...
A+ for effort though.

Looks my like someone crashed a petrol tanker into a lake 15 years ago and with a little artistic license, like a bloke standing on the top under a tarp pretending to be a conning tower, a great PR story.
No, they're genuine, there's a documentary about them on Discovery or Nat Geo that's been shown recently, not quite sure why this is news.hooperpride said:
You'd have to have balls of steel to take that out, absolute madness but also rather cool.
Not bad, but for real nerve seehttp://inventors.about.com/od/sstartinventions/a/S...

I had heard of it but I must confess my childhood recollection was that the Turtle was the first "submarine" ever used in combat - but Wiki says different !! I just remember the picture of the insides of it and thinking that the "pilot" must be mad to even get in the thing.Recovered in 2000, the official website - http://www.hunley.org

Craziness. The propeller was hand-driven yet if you look at the diagram on the right, you can clearly see one crew member using a laptop.
