The idea of a mythical race of 6'3 blonde haired blue eyed Nordic-types being ruled by a 5'7 dark haired Austrian was always a bit far fetched. Now it seems Hitler had both Jewish and North African ancestry...

I was aware of the Jewish bit, though as rumour rather than fact. And, I suppose North African isn't that far away; the Jews were in Egypt for a while.

Still, that's an awful lot of death due to one man's self loathing.

I thought it had something to do with the WWI armistice and the feeling amongst the military that a technically superior German army was ordered to stand down by Politicians and bankers, who then presided over a period of wealth deystroying inflation.

I suppose the logic was that Germany was betrayed by it's politicians, and then bankrupted by the bankers ( who happened to be largely Jewish ).

On the other hand point taken he might just have caught the clap and never got over it.

Though, if you looked hard enough and for long enough, you could find hundreds of different 'races' in anyone's DNA.

I thought the hatred of jews stemmed from WWI for the reasons above, plus the feeling that the Jews did not want to contribute much to the german war effort during the great war.

When Hitler started down the political road, I think a lot of his ideas of instilling national pride and the desire to be the best were spot on. But then he began losing the plot more and more and became insane- too fanatical/maniacal.

It is also rumoured that Hitler had contracted syphilis (so possibly not herpes). One of the known neurological side effects that can occur with tertiary syphilis is general paresis or insanity, leading to death in as little as 2-3 years- including progressive personality change, poor judgement and memory loss- these changes can include maniacal belief that you are invincible, have incredible power and can achieve world domination (if that is your aim). Certainly an interesting possibility.

How on earth is it propaganda?! Also, considering it is perfectly possible to convert into Judaism I am not sure I see or agree with your point! It is made difficult but that is for reasons that, if one is interested in, make perfect sense from a theological point of view. If one is not interested in the theological angle, then presumably there is little desire to convert to become Jewish and thus it is irrelevant how difficult or otherwise it may or may not be!
