Incident report here

Place your bets if they will be prosecuted/sacked/VH will say its just one (or two) bad apple(s).

Personally I can only see the last of those three options happening.

Unbelievable, there is no excuse, those officers should be sacked immediately, with no pension entitlement.
Senior Officers, responsible for training, should also be called to account.
Taxpayers, will of course, pick up the bill.
Then, what have we come to expect from so many BiB, the uniform entitles.
Servants, or, as so many now assume, Masters?

Police apologise to local residents but not the owner of the car. Nice touch.

The officers were found inside, one with minor injuries one severely shaken and both severely stirred. No one else was hurt.

Shaken AND stirred...?

Bond would not approve...hehe

But this is news and will be hidden away in plod and law !!!!!

Still much better that PH is split into so many areas that nobody finds nothing nowadays.

I really did have a good look through news before posting it.

This does sound like utter knobjockery. I am not for one moment going to even suggest "waiting for the facts" because I simply can't fathom any innocent explanation.

If it is as presented, they will be prosecuted and sacked. And TBH, rightly so.

Doubt the Met will be that interested tbh.

Perhaps it's a new initiative to cut down on drink drivers re-offending.

Chief Superintendent Mark Roberts said: "...I would like to apologise to residents if this incident has caused any problems or inconvenience."

If?! Does the above comment imply that senior police are habitually used to joyriders in uniform crashing Evos into their gardens such that they have to ponder a while on each occasion as to whether it's an inconvenience?

If this amateur wordsmith is responsible for these idiots then he should resign. The officers and their recruiters (if different from Roberts) should be sacked.

No doubt there will have to be a detailed investigation into the feeble excuses that these inadequate plod drivers will muster as to why they didn't wait for the trailer and how they ran out of skill in a fast but hardly insanely powered 4wd car.
