It's Michael O'Leary time...again.

He annoys the crap out of me, he thinks I assume if someone is paid 30k he can pay them 20k or someone else will want the job, he seems to place no value on skill and thinks if someone will do it cheaper why the hell should you pay more.
He only does it because his employees accept those terms and conditions in the first place. People go there 'for a few years' and think they'll move on to someone better. The trouble is all the better airlines are saying - if people work for ryanair for 'x' why are we paying our employees this much, giving them private health, staff travel, good pensions, uniforms, respect etc etc. . . . and down we all go.

Surely it's only a metter of time before commercial aircraft are flown totally by computer anyway?
with no pilot on board?would you fly on it?
However - I would not get on any plane without a pilot...
I don't care how good your computer is!

There are driverless trains already, it is just a metter of time before the ideao of humans being at the controls of public transport will seem ridiculous.

Smashing - let's have everyone working for minimum wage. And O'Leary probably thinks that's set a bit high.

Aeroplane engine stops = plane falls out of the sky.
How do you expect this "computer" will deal with windshear, icing up instruments, thunderstorms, avoiding light aircraft, computer failures, auto pilot failures, air traffic control mistakes, not landing and taking off when the weather is unsuitable, lightning strikes etc etc etc
A computer controlled train can simply be stopped if it goes wrong, on an aeroplane it's quite different.
The "metter of time" you talk about is not a few years but many many decades away.
