But they are also reporting this story on BBC Radio 2 so it must be true rolleyes

Apologies, the sarcasm in my original post didn't shine through adequately. I find criticism of Daily Mail links as tedious as the Pavlovian 'MX5' responses in "what car" threads biggrin

Bloody love ELO. I must admit I am not a follower of who is who within any band but what a shame.

Mainly got into ELO due to Radio Caroline that seems to be always giving them airtime.

I know its past his time but 'Time' is one one my favorite albums and is as 1980s as you could get and propels me back there smile

+1

Would put Secret Messages above Time although both are cracking albums.

Bev Bevan's currently doing the clubs and pubs in Wolverhampton with the Bev Bevan Band with a couple of the other members.

That must be a new world record for random death. Was it a square bail, or one of these Big Wheels type? Was reading that the police are having trouble finding next of kin- he had no girlfriend, etc. And he was driving a van when he died. Not what I expected from a rock star and quite sad in it's own way. Kind of makes you wonder if this is the way life's meant to be. frown

Haven't listened to ELO since I was a kid, think I'll break some out again.

Apparently it was of the rolled variety. He had become a buddhist and was earning a living by travelling around teaching cello.
