Policeman shot by Moat

I know this should be in the TV and Radio section, however I think it deserves a wider view.
I listened to the policeman who was shot in the face by Moat speaking on radio 2. Even with Jeremy Vine it is without doubt the interview that I have found the most humbling to hear ever. Here is a guy who has lost his sight, requires furter operations on his face, has constant pain from the plates in his face and yet he says he is lucky. His outlook was awesome, he is going to live and love life whatever and the reason he is lucky, because some other people have a worse situation than him. Did he show hate and anger? no. Did he feel sorry for himself? No. Was he going to sit on his arse and claim benefit? No. He is going back to work when he can to do a role yet to be decided upon. So some feckless t
t who has a bad back (not so bad that he can father 10 kids)can not work but here the guy refuses to stop.
If ever anything happens to me I hope I can have half his spirit, half his drive and I would get through anything.
Also his wife. what a support. Genuinly a moving piece that is worth a listen on I player.

I actually call what happened extremly unlucky, but his positive attitude has really impressed me. Its such a waste, I just hope he can enjoy life with his family.
I dont suppose most of us could imagine living life from now on knowing you can never actually see your wife and kids again.

If that is true (and I don't doubt you EB), it is disgraceful. In a nutshell, surely a summary of much that is wrong with Britain today.

Chap I work with was severely injured when he was driven over a few times by an offender. He has to undergo regular surgery to keep his ability to walk. He's fought to stay at work and is a bloody hard Worker.
Unfortunately we all know others who aren't. They ruin it for the genuine cases.

I knew a guy who lost a leg and worked in comms. Unfortunately we all know others who aren't. They ruin it for the genuine cases.
