So, plans are afoot to send humans on a one-way trip to Mars.

Firstly, would you go? Would you forsake everything you've got here on Earth to be one of the first settlers on another planet?

Would you move to Mars?

Secondly, they're suggesting that four people would go at first. Four people to tame the surface of Mars, set up all the stuff to become self-sufficient and, presumably, start "colonising" (read "shagging")

Which other three people would you take?

I wouldn't, no.

But I have got a long list of people we could send there. They'd be useless at techie stuff though, however lots of them can breed quite well (and do)

I'd go tomorrow, if they asked. Although I'm guessing they want people a bit more heroic and scientific than a 43-year-old trucker from Northampton.

I'd take with me:

The Ex
Bare Grilles
Kelly Brook (for when the ex wanted a day off)

Current partner as we get on really well
Cheryl Cole
Mr T

Mr T, purely because he can make anything from the minimal available e.g a bulldozer from a cabbage and a magnet, a lettuce gun from a cucumber and a rock.

Cheryl Cole, basically it'd be my one chance to get rid of her once and for all by chucking her out of an airlock enroute biggrin

Is that a serious article? I feel incredibly dumb but it has to be a joke, right?

Wait, is it? Eh?

I'd be tempted, if my wife was up for it too.

You would be remembered for the rest of man's history as the first interplanetary colonists, which would be a pretty damn cool legacy.

Thinking about it, surely we'd be better colonising the moon first?

It would be a very interesting social experiment. Who would stop you when you go a little bit mental and start bludgeoning the other members? No rules/laws. They're hardly going to come and get you at a cost of £7 billion.

What if, when you land you kill the other people with you. Would that be covered by the law of whichever country you left from? Or could you declare yourself "King of Mars" and be immune from prosecution and claim "diplomatik imooooonity" were you extradited back to Earth?
