"Mrs Walters started teaching English at Harlington Adult Education Centre in Harlington Community School, run by Hillingdon Council, in 2005 and had vocal problems after a month. This was exacerbated as clarity of pronunciation, particularly for English language students at beginner level, is extremely important and students often had to ask me to repeat myself."
She wasn't teaching kids people - looks like she was teaching English as an additional language. Try reading the whole article

If she had to raise her voice to be heard over the children she clearly wasn't in control of the class.
what do you think modern school is like exactly?
I certainly could not be a teacher, I would be the one hitting the pupils with a dumbbell.

Without the full details £150K could be seriously generous or piss poor, if she has done enough damage that she can no longer do her job and is unlikely to ever be able to in the future then the payment is low. If she needs 6months off to recover then the payout is way to high. It all comes down to whether or not she can do the job she trained for again.
£150K could be between 3 and 5 years wages, these stories never give enough info to know if the payout is excessive.

At the moment compensation lawyers are like pigs at a trough. They know that sooner or later the trough will be empty, or snatched away. In the meantime, they've got their front feet in it.
Question is, how will this be stopped? The government were making noises about making "no win, no fee" either illegal or more difficult to achieve for the lawyers, but whether it happens or not is another matter.Sooner the better IMO

, and someone has come to the conclusion that that amounts to £150k?
