There goes another government pledge
Discussion
The Government has abandoned its pledge to grant anonymity to men charged with rape in England and Wales.
Justice Minister Crispin Blunt said there was not sufficient evidence to justify the move.
The decision to scrap the proposal, which was included in the Government's coalition agreement in May, follows criticism from women's groups

A government of LIARS on an unprecedented scale.
You think this is even close to the taking of the country to war on the basis of a lie?
But its certainly obvious they couldn't give a flying f
k about sticking to their promises.Seriously, why would "Womens groups" not agree with this?
Are we actually talking about a couple of fringe loon clubs here that just shout loudly so as to look a lot more significant?
I've always thought that the very best thing a falsly accused bloke could do is to simply name his accuser. The state would then have three choices (1) Accept it thus effectively allowing all parties to be named (2) Accept it thus forcing dual annonimty as the only to preserve single annonimity (3) contest it and look very silly when the bloke takes it to the EU courts as gross sex discrimination(which he is likely to win as other EU countries have dual annonimity) and then have to pay compensation to any aquitted bloke.
Quietly adopting dual annonimity would be the best way out. Sooner or later a big circus around (3) is comming and they'll lose, pay out vast sums and look silly.
