Bit remiss of me not to post a link I suppose:

Further to my OP, I will now think of this as a 4-day working week, followed by a 3-day, followed by another 4-day.

Am slightly concerned about how much the thought of time off work has cheered me up - possibly I need a holiday. laugh

I'd be more impressed if they made it a Bank Holiday Week.

Looks like a good time of year to book a 2 week holiday abroad and use minimal holiday entitlement!

Fantastic. I'll be there outside the venue with my box of tissues and "we love you Kate" banner, frantically hitting the F5 button on my laptop, on Franklin Mint's website. My only hope is that the occasion is marked with a plate that matches the grace and majesty captured in the "People's Princess".

My missus has been convinced for months that it would be next August, on the same day our daughter gets married.

It's very generous of David Cameron to declare a National Holiday as it doesn't cost him anything! Who do we self-employed types send our invoices to??

Indeed! Also those that have to pay their staff to not turn up for the day!

My dad used to complain that the governments so called "Privilege days" were nothing more than a hindrance day as he was a contractor!!
