Sounds like a man who tells the truth. He should be the kind of person we want in the Govt.

I heard it on ITV at lunchtime. Absolutely hysterical.

He will get pilloried for it no doubt, but at last someone in the public domain says what a lot of people already know to be true.

Good luck to the man.

There is clearly a reason why the rules and policies always seem to benefit the underclass. They always come up smelling of roses. Why? How can a country run by the middle class punish its own so much and pass laws and policies that favour the very people they rightly despise? fked if I know.

I heard this on the radio on the way home, after having sat through 3 hours of people bleating on about how the local authority budget cuts are going to impact on the most vulnerable in society first. The most vulnerable being the ones who even if given a home, food, warmth and a reasonable education on a plate seem to find watching Jezza Kyle, smoking, drinking cheap wine substitute, usin txt spk n pis poor gramer on farcebook wile typin on there kidz fre laptop dats nected to the interntez bi a free yless rooter, and popping out a new generation of illegitimate future burglars, car theives and drug abusers promising young footballers and ballet dancers.

The bloke deserves a pat on the back not forcing into saying sorry by his leader. If a few of the useless members of our society are offended into being less useless then great, if they are just offended then fk them. It isn't like he lied or cheated anyone with his statement.

All this old guff reminds me of the lottery winner who said my multi million pound win won't change me or anything I do. Bloody pointless.

He's a renowned tt. Exactly the sort of person we have a few too many of in Govt.

Hi rate tax payers need no welfare.

Welfare should strictly be for those who require it.

It's been a criminal farce that there have been certain welfare payments being made to millions who do not need it.

If you are a higher rate tax payer just try and look in the mirror and justify your belief that you need a state hand out.

The concept of recieving welfare disgust me and I am extremely pleased that this Govt do not consider me a welfare case, unlike the previous nutters who wanted everyone in the UK on welfare, begging for handouts like the pathetic cattle we seem to be desperate to become.

Distinct lack of personal pride in anyone who thinks they should recieve welfare when they clearly do not need it.

Scrap the child benefit then but bring back the child tax allowance.

Looks sensible.
Backlash, "What about those who don't pay tax?".
That's the continuing stalemate we are in.

Nothing for higher rate tax payers. Nothing. We don't need it and anyone who thinks they do is shameful.

The fact that people are bleating about losing something they don't need and are demanding to be on benefits is just symptomatic of the last 15 years of terminal demise of moral fibre and personal pride amongst the educated and fortunate of this country.

Scrap every single one of these stupid little, gerrymandering exercises and focus on welfare for the most needy and lower taxes allround for everyone else.

out of my circle of 30ish close friends all of who are now 30-ish- only 2 have had kids- because it is simply TOO expensive for us.

Out of most of the lower class staff that work in our business- most are plannning on having kids before they are 22

how do you reconcile these two observations?

Because it's good for morale. If all you ever do is cough up without receiving anything back (if you leave out law n order, NHS, roads and so on) it gets annoying, quite quickly. Child benefit is only a token gesture, but as perception is reality, it is quite important. It would be better to pay everyone all benefits (Red Ed almost said this, but wimped-out).

I before E, except after C.

But on the other hand do we need to pay those who contribute nothing to make more people like themselves? From the point of view of investing in the future of society it is far better to subsidise the fertility of a net contributor than to subsidise the fertility of a net noncontributor. While higher rate tax payers may not need the money for themselves it may still be wise to encourage them so, on that basis, they need it.

Alternatively just scrap it, it isn't about putting an emergency roof over your head, it isn't about being phisically or mentally unable to provide for oneself, it isn't about a sudden loss of income as you have time to plan, we all know where babies come from and they arrive after a fairly long series of fairly obvious processes, contraception is easily available and as a tax payer I'd rather just keep the money to spend on my kids rather than have to circulate it to them (and others who pay nothing) via the tax man... so why pay anything at all?

This, the truth and the future, a middle class "priced out" from reproducing, leaving only the independently wealthy and benefits supported to do so.
Oh well, some have suggested we will return to past times.
I had hoped this Government would have had plans to reverse this nightmare scenario.

Seems pretty much spot on tbh.

Certainly something I've witnessed in my time as a medical professional in various 'underprivileged' areas.

Glad someone spoke up about the fatherless chav breeding program that we are all paying for.

And now Cameron wants to restrict child benefit for just proven spongers. So now the middle class who used to pay for their kids and the spongers, just get to pay for the spongers kids. Great.
