Money talks.

Especially when it's in Sep and colleagues's Swiss bank accounts.

It was always going to be the country that paid the biggest bribes. Sepp and his mates are as corrupt as a three week-old sandwich.

So what WAS the Panorama effect?
Go back in time and redo the voting without the program being shown - that's the only way you'll know if it had any effect at all. Anything else is speculation.

Say yes to Davids Cameron & Beckham and no to the Russian Gangsters. Hmm. Not surprised at the outcome!

How much has the oligrark chap put into uk football though fair enough really, according to the stats uk doesn't have enough hotel rooms and the attendances have dropped since the 1940/50s

totally outrageous, I'm fuming more about 2022 going to the footballing hotbed of Qatar, at least award the WC to a country that has qualified for it once.

I for one really believe that the choice has nothing to do with bribes or other inducements. Really, really believe that. No, honest I do. Or threats of course. Nor the supply of women or boys. These sorts of things didn't come into it. It was all above board, honest and straight. The decision was based solely on merit.

Really, really.

No, really. When I say I really believe it, I mean really, really believe it.

Mind you, at the back of my mind . . .

Absolutely not surprised in any way. FIFA are corruption distilled into it's purest essence. The sad thing is that it's probably unavoidable no matter who runs FIFA. So much money to be made when weilding that kind of power.

Somehow proves the BBC's point though.

Been struggling with the "Is the Beeb to blame or is FIFA bent?" Question for a month or so.

Having heard about the programme, although I must admit I didn't watch it, it appears that FIFA have answered that question for us. They are so bent they'd make Julian Clary hanging out the back of Boy George look straight.

I mean FFS if they had wanted to stick 2 fingers at us they would have gone for the Spain/Portugal bid.

And people question Bernie...

If you can't beat them then join them.

If, as we were told, this tournament would have made Britain £1 billion + then we should have just bribed the officials. I'm sure we do it elsewhere within diplomatic circles.
