Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no white power nutter, but it strikes me as abit unbalanced that on the one hand Muslim extremists get a police escort on their hate marches to ensure no-one attacks them, rather than being told they can't hold them in the first place.

Yet on the other hand, the Home Secretary is considering stepping in to ban this Pastor from the UK.

Surely the rules should be the same for both sides, inciting racial hatred is a crime, whichever way it swings?

You'd like to think that wouldn't you. The fact that most people think it is not the case is to my mind part of the reason why the BNP are gaining ground.

It strikes me as strange that anyone who claims to be of sound mind would have anything against incinerating any fictional book.

I'm up for burning "The DaVinci Code".

There is a new lot setting the rules now so no surprise that they are different. If it's not consistently applied then that will be disgraceful.

The guy is a buffoon, I doubt the first two rows of his pews are ever full.
Don't refuse him admittance, that will just get him more publicity and ultimately onto a chat show so he can make some money.
Admit him...then deport him in an easterly direction.
Thanks.

Where have you been? Have you not heard that the BNP is dead. Lost all their seats. No MPs no councillors. They are an ex-party. Next.

I'm not sure I agree, but I'd imagine it's the whole 'protect the minority' thing.

If this fellow did rock over here the costs of policing the ensuing protest/riot (priot?) would be coming from our pockets.

Mind you, if he acts anything he does in cartoon form, he should be ok:

They are.... Zakir Naik was banned earlier this year (although Zakir is not extreme the slightest!)

Personally I think the media needs to shoulder a lot of the responsibility for situations like this.
If an obscure Pastor from an obscure little church in the backwaters of the USA is invited to address a meeting of the EDL, what would happen if the media ignored it? No one would ever know he had been here,
Mind you why was he invited ion the first place? Well for some reason, this obscure Pastor from an obscure little church in the backwaters of the USA told his congregation of 32 and a half that he was going to burn the Koran one day, and yet somehow it leaked out. Now who was it that told us??

Democracy comes with a price tag and complexities, still its better than some other options like working in a salt-mine.

yes

Why did the EDL invite him originally anyway?
