Why do I get the feeling that the input for this will lead to a conclusion that the West will all die horribly unless we pay more tax and hand over power to the EU....

And it'll prove global warming of course.

So theyre spending billions of taxpayers money to give to a few eggheads to create a real version of the matrix.

And people wonder why i despise governments and the public sector more than private companies.

The only solution is to nuke washington, westminster and strasbourg.

... And they'll only receive their tax funded grant money if the conclusions are - you know what....

So, if it's going to simulate *everything*, then it would have to simulate itself. The simulation of itself would also have to be simulating itself, and so on ad infinitium.

Rather reminds me of this paper:

said:
ARE YOU LIVING IN A COMPUTER SIMULATION?
BY NICK BOSTROM
Department of Philosophy, Oxford University

Homepage: http://www.nickbostrom.com
[First version: May, 2001; Final version July 2002]
Published in Philosophical Quarterly (2003), Vol. 53, No. 211, pp. 243-255.
[This document is located at http://www.simulation-argument.com] [pdf-version]

ABSTRACT
This paper argues that at least one of the following propositions is true: (1) the human species is very likely to go extinct before reaching a “posthuman” stage; (2) any posthuman civilization is extremely unlikely to run a significant number of simulations of their evolutionary history (or variations thereof); (3) we are almost certainly living in a computer simulation. It follows that the belief that there is a significant chance that we will one day become posthumans who run ancestor-simulations is false, unless we are currently living in a simulation. A number of other consequences of this result are also discussed.

"a simulator that can replicate everything happening on Earth - from global weather patterns and the spread of diseases to international financial transactions or congestion on Milton Keynes' roads."

It's not that bunch of muppets from the UEA CRU is it?

Who needs a fking simulator, all the st they are interested in is happening out there for REAL. Go understand that you s. The only simulators they need are either a getting laid simulator or a do some fking work simulator. I would suggest a quarry somewhere where they can take big pieces of granite and chip them into small pieces of granite from which we can build prisons for layabouts and roads and runways for people who not irrelevant to enjoy.
