Michael Gove mental arithmetic faux pas on Question Time

So HM Govt Education Secretary, in his overeagerness to score a point, cocks up some basic mental arithmetic. Dimblebum had already stated he was 72. Gove suggests he was born in 1940.

Much hilarity and exchanges of light hearted banter ensued.

Dimblebum took some wry pleasure in reminding him of his earlier comments about how important maths was to eductation.

Sadly it was nearly at the end of the broadcast, otherwise more fun could have been had.

(if its a repost I apologise. I looked through N,P&E to before the broadcast. Perhaps it has been moved to TV & Film )

Wiki says he was born on 28th October 1938, which would make him currently 72, until he is 73 this year.

32 in 1970

72 in 2010

73 on 28th Oct 2011. 2012 has nothing to do with it.

Michael Gove knew Dimblebum was 72 as he had stated so 5 mins before hand, but Gove suggested he was born in 1940. Hence the faux pas. Hence audience hilarity etc.......
