No way would I jail.

Suspended, yes.

Then again if my daughter turned into a dirty little smack head I would most likely write her off anyway. I have a very open attitude to most drugs, Smack and Crack are the losers choice however and any child of mine would have know that from the first time we spoke abuot the subject. Just as they would have know never to expect me to lift a finger to help them if they chose to go to that way. I'd rather that they just hung themselves and saved me the years of torment before the eventual OD/rape/prison/etc.

Easier to type than to actually do. Classic case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I wouldn't jail them, they are perhaps just a little misguided but they had the best intentions.

I think its seriously misguided to think you have enough information to make any judgement, when all you know is what they printed in the Daily Mail. Their agenda is to publish to a small corner of the facts in order to justify whatever point they want to make. They often do this to make the judicial system look foolish.

The judges have far less choice than you would imagine. The CPS make the decision to charge, and it was the CPS who should have made a "not in the public interest" decision to discontinue the prosecution of this woman unless she did something a bit naughty other than doing all she could to stop her daughter buying hard drugs. All the judge could do, given that she was plainly guilty of imprisoning her daughter outwith any jurisdiction, was give her a lenient sentence.

Possibly but the judiciary often make it easy for them.

This is the interesting bit though. The article is written to make you think it was about heroin, but re-read it and you see that it's the journo who says that. All the facts say was that it was a Class A drug. Looks like manipulation and distortion of the facts and makes you therefor question the legitimacy and truth in the rest of the article.

The first question that springs to my mind is what was an 'ex' doing there in the first instance etc etc. I doubt that all is as it seems.

weird, the get a worse sentence (far worse) than the skanky we would have got if she'd been caught buying the smack they stopped her buying!

Perhaps this is why so few people want to "get involved" in others' crimes.....
