It`s getting really out of control! I don`t live far from Dulwich. This is the part near Kings College Hospital.
I have a personal interest here because the teenager Steve Lawrence was fatally stabbed only 6 minutes walk from my home in April 1993.
Great Britain 2011, can it deteriorate?!

The problem is that eventually / inevitablly, there will come a point when bystanders get caught up something, being in the wrong place at the wrong time.This is an example of just how out of control things can get;

and then you get things like this going on;

It's difficult to know what the answer is, despite sentences being reasonably severe for carrying a knife etc, it seems to have little impact.
Whilst a lot of the violence is gang on gang, some isn't. The Victoria station murder appears to have been a disagreement that escalated.

Sadly this is the case, the UK needs to combat the 'gang' culture that has built up.
Combat? With guns right?
Innocents were caught up at a new years eve party a few years back in Birmingham, one of my friends was there and lucky to escape unharmed (we did warn her, but she was shagging one of the gang members
) Johnson Crew and Burger Bar Boys were the ones shooting eachother if I remember correctly.Willie Dee said:
Harsh punishments have long been proven to be infective against some crimes.
Really?Or is it that we no longer have the harshest of punishments available?
"Infective", of course, might be the truth in the current climate.
The disease is allowed to spread due to lack of effective control.

People act like this is something new. It's been going on for centuries, and it'll continue for the foreseeable future.
Have a gander through The Times archive, you'll find reports of this kind of fighting going back as far as the 18th century.
Crime does not remain constant over time.Have a gander through The Times archive, you'll find reports of this kind of fighting going back as far as the 18th century.
It was worse in the 18th century, a time of grinding poverty for most, got far better over the course of the 19th century and first half of the twentieth century and then got allot worse since then.
