Any one see that video on the news of the 70 odd year old laying into a gang of thieves, it was like Mony Pythons Hells Grannies.

The old lady was irresponsible the men could have been armed with colourful language or a feather duster. The average softy in the street would have probably bricked it.

Well done to her though.

Sad state of affairs when the only person in that street willing to do owt is a little old lady. Obviously people wernt pushed around by scum in her day. The polices constant bleeting about knife crime (you actually seen anyone get stabbed?) working well.

I mean that knackered old transit in the clip could easily have knocked those jokers off the scooter, but no leave it to the old lady.

Good on the Granny smile

However....

It's disgusting that no-one else helped her out, typical of the "Someone else can do it" culture dragging this country down frown

What like this young lad yesterday http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-12...

Good on the old lady smash

Bets on a sentence for sonny jim ?? Community service or suspended sentence mad

I think the more people who fight back randomly may lessen peoples 'taking a chance' that no one will act, it seems clear the police advice to 'let the attackers/scum prevail' mentality seems only to be making robbery etc more prevalent.

people get stabbed around here all the time...

My guess is if a bloke had run up he would have gotten a sledgehammer to the face.

Absolutely awesome. I like how people finally step in after seeing Grandma going for it.

And boy she can run well at her age. Obviously on the vitamins.

That was brilliant!!! biggrin Someone give that lady a medal!

I think the fact she was an old lady might have almost given her some protection though - it wouldn't take much to turn a robbery into a more serious murder investigation and the robbers probably knew this.

But still well done to the lady thumbup it's a pity more people don't intervene like she did...

Indeed, well done, but a little foolish...

If it was your mum trying to get at them, would you let her loose? Thought not.

It's a classic piece of justice but, I think her age gave some protection. If a young bloke went storming in, I would put money he would have come out with a broken face, or worse.

Not that I imagine the old lady acknowledges that - she was very brave regardless. However, I wouldn't want my mum doing the same.

Well done to her biggrin

Did anyone else notice the guy on the floor getting a bit of a smack by the guy in grey trousers when he was pinned down, or was it my imagination?
