Is someone at the BBC making up their references and having a laugh?

The BBC said:
Frankie Sparrowhawk, 18, who walked past as it happened, said he heard two shots and saw a man on the floor.
The BBC said:
Students from a music school close to the scene in Rock Place described what they saw
WTF

Well done coppers. There has been a spate of armed robberies here recently. Hopefully that's him gone.
Also Rock Place is genuine, though I can't vouch for My Sparrowhawk.

Some you win, some you lose. It appears the Police Win.

To all serving plod (armed) - do you feel remorse if you are forced to engage a criminal in this way?

...and if only he had received a decent amount of JSA, he would not have been forced into such action!

He was suspected of carrying out armed robberies on local post offices, believe he drew his weapon and goodnight vienna.

Shame they can't all draw their weapons on multiple cops who have MP5 pointing at their chests.

My sympathies to the officers who shot him. I am sure they will be glad when the IPCC ordeal is over.
