I used to teach climbing to Scouts, try showing them how to put a climbing harness on and check it's secure without touching them.
On another occasion I had both my hands on the top of a 12 year old boys thigh for 20 minutes. He had run a stanley knife into his leg, it wasn't particularly deep (no stitches) but needed holding closed while we cleaned and bandaged it before hospital.
There but for the grace.......................

You grab them by the front loop and throw them up into the air a bit surely? no inappropriate touching involved.I once did that about 30 feet from the edge of a cliff. The kid had not done his helmet up and flew of his head and crashed to the bottom of the cliff.
After a suitable pause, I said "...and that could have been your head."

Was in the days of the Willans climbing harness, pull up make sure 'nuts' out of way, pull down to make sure they wouldn't drop out if they went upside down. Most of these kids couldn't make a cup of tea, trusting them to tie something tight enough really was risking life.I once did that about 30 feet from the edge of a cliff. Was the kids head usually held on with a strap? or did it frequently fly off I once did that about 30 feet from the edge of a cliff. The kid had not done his helmet up and flew of his head and crashed to the bottom of the cliff.
