10 nil for the No camp so far.

This could be a blood bath this evening if these opening results are anything to go by.

Almost got to feel sorry for the LibDems. Almost.

We didn't ask for this vote, we didn't ask for the Lib-dems - am sure we asked for a vote on Europe, though....

I wonder if the Yes supporters could convince the Returning Officer that such voters have still expressed a preference for Yes.

73 No
27 Yes

Even people who would like to see the voting system changed couln't really get enthused about AV.

No, that's a cop out. People have been given the chance to vote in a new voting system as they despise FPTP, and its falling flat in a horrible way.

I sincerely hope that the Yes people take the defeat in good grace and realise that they are the ones that are out of step with the country.

I sincerely hope that the big two don't take it as a rubber stamp that they can carry on ignoring us apart from one tiny X in a box every five years as i think the majority of the country feel completely ignored.

Stone the crows, Lambeth and a Glasgow constituency just voted yes.

Ah well, 133 vs 2. Can live with that.

We need voting reform. We don't need AV where one person gets more of a vote.

What we need is FPTP for the Commons, and an Upper House elected by PR, nor full of unelected cronies. We also need the equalisation of electoral boundaries.

Or is this too far out there for some people?

They're calling for Clegg to step down now.

And who needs voting reform, it seems this is how decisions are made now:

BBC said:
Labour has taken control of Bury Council after the result in a crucial seat was determined by drawing lots.

The Labour candidate chose the longest of two cable ties to win the Ramsbottom seat after three recounts could not separate the Tory and Labour votes.

I will be perfectly honest in saying i'd prefer that to AV or FPTP

A cable ties vote can never be bought
