Perhaps. But who's currently second? UKIP? Or labour or the lib dems?
No idea and I don't really care to be honest. The Tories should know what they need to do to stop this happening all over the country.... Or do they need 2015 as a lesson?
If it was as easy as lurching to the right to win an election, CMD would have done it by now. But its not. All parties are a broad church. Not every tory is swayed by UKIP (here's one, BTW ) - in fact, voters will start to peel off the other end if the tories try to out-UKIP UKIP (here's one, BTW
Perhaps this is a problem with PH - it seems to be a last resting place of a lot of angry old white guys. And as the Republicans found out the hard way last year, there ain't enough angry old white guys out there any more.
It is not the tories panacea to cuddle up to UKIP, no matter what many on here may think. Politics is more complicated than that.
If you and others like you split the tory vote in your constituency, then whichever part is currently in second place is likely to take the seat. That should bother you if it is a party that you disagree with more that the tories.
This website will tell you who is number 2 in your constituency http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/election2010/result...

So I guess you fall into the 'tactical voter' group, rather than, 'vote for what you believe in' group?
I used to vote for what I believed in....Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anyone standing for election on a platform of what I believe in any more.
I am pinning all my hopes on Buddhism being the most accurate of the world religions, so that in a couple of decades the reincarnation of Baronness Thatcher can become our youngest ever PM, and save the country all over again!

See, im, it's not just UKIP/the Right who have nutters amongst their ranks, despite your singular and pointed attacks on that side.

Then you, like many others on PH, are failing to grasp the realities and practicalities.

This is a cop out and assumes UKIP voters will mysteriously migrate back to a party that fails to represent them. It not a "lurch to the right" to want a party that isn't obsessively pro Euro, high tax and spend, and hell bent on green policies. This is a reasonable request for centrist policies.
Getting UKIP votes back isn't everything the Tories need to do, but it's a necessary condition to ever win an election again (hint: start by getting rid of Cameron).
Oh by the way, in my constituency Labour are second and will take the seat from the Tories - good, my vote will still go to UKIP. At the moment a labour vs conservative government is a matter of indifference. Many people I meet in the constituency feel the same way.
Perhaps the Tories will take some lessons from 2015! Well we'll see...

To match the two brain cells in your dome.
And yet you're the one who chose a username with the acronym ASS.To match the two brain cells in your dome.
Clearly my 2 can still surround and befuddle your own humble offering.

I await your next absolutely devastating "2 brain cells" type diatribe as you have all the will power of a 5 year old who, having made himself sick on chocolate says he's "never, nope never-ever-never" gonna eat chocolate again!
And you "despise" somebody...on an internet forum...you sad-sad man
See you (very) soon
