OK, maybe it's me being thick here, that's not difficult. Letter from our glorious rulers is as follows:



Amount to be paid:
Working Tax Credit £497.24

Minus
Payments already made by us £661.85

Amount due from you £164.61



That bit I get, they continued paying me the same monthly amount from the last tax year while calculating my credit for this tax year. But this bit is what I can't fathom:



Although we calculate the amount due from you is £164.61, we will pay you a further £260.54 from now to 5 April 2012. If nothing else changes before 5 April 2012 you will be overpaid by £425.15 for this award period.



Am I correct in thinking, that even though they know this money is an overpayment, they are just going to keep sending it to me anyway? And I have looked though the letter high and low but I can't get where they calculate the amount of £260.54 from, or why they want to pay it to me.

In a word - eh??? confused
