As title, I'm curious how rich folk get paid?

Famous singer or better still, someone like Mr (vortex, never lose suction) Dyson??

Do they dilligently check their balance & bank statement like us normal folk?

Yeah..& "Oh st, car insurance & council tax is due"!

Maybe they pay someone to check their bank balance??

hehe

I deal mainly in EFTs and have my accountant deal with such mundane things as council tax.

I could well imagine the super wealthy know every in and out of their finances - it's part of the reason they have so much money in the first place.

Mate of mine owns a bank in Hong Kong. He gets paid a salary once a month and a bonus once a year. He is usless at paying for things like car tax, car insurance and getting his cars serviced. His wife once sent their BMW to the dealer to have the windscreen washer bottle refilled, and got a hire car!

Nice guy, known him for years but totally bonkers!

Well, I read it on here..... Showed a picture of the statement....

But seriously rich people aren't going to check their balances, a few of my friends who are "wealthy" but not "rich" don't bother, they just go and buy what they want.

This - for certain. I remember watching secret millionaire and one guy was very shocked at the reality of having 70 quid a week when he was used to never looking for 'mundane' purchases.

I also have friends who don't check their balance; they just go out and buy what they want.

Unfortunately, it's just poor money management/ignorance as they're only on a couple of hundred quid a week!

I suppose there will be all sorts with all sorts of money. I think if I were mega rich, I'd always know pretty accurately how much I had because it's just the way I am.

My brother went to put a deposit on a car (£1000) and thought he had better check his account had enough money in to cover it, before handing over his card.

He discovered that there was £56000 in there and he didnt have a clue.

When he moved to Thailand, he asked me and my dad to clear his house for sale and under the stairs was 5 bin bags full of unopened bank statements etc.

He said he handt checked the balance at the cash machine for 3 or 4 years.

This thread is making me feel ill! I check my balance before most purchases, especially petrol. Been in that hideous situation once, filled up 70 quids worth, 'sorry sir, you cards been declined' - its not like you can put the petrol back! A low, low point in my life frown

I'd give my right nut not to have to check my balance, just because I knew it was brimming with cash. One day, one day.....

Oh, and I'm not a lazy bum, I work full time etc, just got taken to the cleaners by the ex wife, grrrr.

I never withdraw less than £500 at a time as I prefer not to use my cards. Nothing beats the convenience of hard cash, and after a trip to the hole in the wall you can't really leave without knowing how much is in the bank as well as in your wallet.

Could never understand why people take £20 out when only £20 is needed. You'll need cash again in your lifetime, why not take out more and save yourself another trip.
