Tracking insurance claim
Discussion
Hi guys and gals of pistonheads,
I am not 100% if this is the right place to ask but here goes, in about May this year, i was involved in a small shunt with another car that from my point of view was the other parties fault, but the extact circumstance would end up being a 50/50 or just my fault, but due to the tiny amount of damage to her vehicle i suggested sort it around the insurance, of which she agreed she asked if i knew of anybody that could repair the damage recommend a company and agreed with her that she would contact that to get a quote when it was best for her, swapped all details etc
A week later get a phone call from a insurance company about the incident, confirm that i happened and they said i would get paperwork to give my side etc etc. I got all this filled it out and sent it back. Since then i have not heard a single thing on it, i was also in the process of moving house and have lost my copy of stuff that i sent and of her details and so on.
i spoke to my insurance company and they said they not heard anything about it at all, they put a note down and i should look out my paperwork, the policy ran out several months ago, but due to being in hospital for a month after a bike crash, i only just had the desire to look at this stuff again.
What i want to know is can i do anything to find out what going on, since the insurance company that the policy with was not helpful at all, can i contact anybody else?
for the main part if the other party got told that they had blame as well and said no point in claiming and dropped it i have not got anything to tell the insruance company this so they can get the claim in process off my record and give me a letter showing my years ncb.
Any help, ideas or anything on this be really helpfully.
Thanks and sorry for dodgy typing the painkillers am on make me a bit floaty at times

Do you remember who the other party's insurer was ?
You have informed your insurer of the accident. If the other party's insurer needs to track you down, they will most likely contact your insurer at the time, or your current insurer.
Just make sure your previous insurer knows your current address.
I'm sure other people with more experience will add more info.
