I've had a good search and found some threads with JISAs lightly referenced but think they deserve their own thread.

My firstborn apparently didn't want a CTF so waited an extra 10 days which gave her an 03/01/11 birthday.

Now that the JISA has been released, I'm keen to start saving for her, especially if she follows in her mother's footsteps to an Ivy League university (with an eyewatering cost of $57k / year as of today!).

Ideally I'd like a split of around 75:25 in favour of stocks to cash with the ability to transfer between the two depending on the economic climate and with a plan of moving towards cash to derisk as she gets closer to university or otherwise ready to blow it on whatever 18 year olds will come 2019. From reading the rules, I believe that transfering both ways is possible... (shame it's not for adult ones).

Other 'nice to haves' would be the ability to manage the split between various funds / shares myself and a low 'per trade' / negotiated fund buy-in cost.

I've spent a few hours on google but I'm really struggling to find anything remotely close to what I'm looking for. Are there any other PHers who have researched into this area and could offer any recommendations / advise?

Check out Hargreaves Lansdown in Bristol.
They are promoting their own where you self select the fund/shares and can split the cash holding as you wish. www.hl.co.uk

I use them for my SIPP/ ISA and they are very good.

Hope that helps.

HL have an excellent reputation.

There appears to be few product providers in the market at present, and we have been looking at the one offered by Fidelity.
