Are there any brokers where you buy shares for your isa and they send you the certificates?

Not clear what you mean. If you set up a stocks and shares ISA, you don't actually own any shares, the provider does and gives you the monetary "value" of them. The only way you get a share certificate is if you buy shares yourself, but then you can't put them into an ISA.

What is a "share certificate" ? smile

I'll put them with the pile of telexes and spangles wink
(seriously, most UK stocks are now electronic, and are cheaper to trade too)

If you're part of a company share option scheme, then you still get a certificate (I have a couple floating around somewhere).

I was just thinking with what happened with mf global it might be better to physically hold the certificates.

Interactive Investor will issue a certificate for £25 or so IIRC and Abbey seem to do it too.
