Pension Issues
Discussion
Can anybody point me in the direction of a web site where you can enter details to get a projection on your mortality?
Also, I have been hunting for a projection on annuities, I can find plenty of listings on existing offers but I can’t see anything that projects where annuities might be in 10 years time.
Cheers,

I'm not aware of any websites that provide mortality projections. I'm a pensions actuary and the models we use to estimate life expectancies are built 'in house' based on data collected from occupational pension schemes. I've just googled 'how long will I live' and there are some websites you might want to try.
Your second question is difficult to answer. Annuity rates are primarily affected by gilt yields, mortality rates both of which are difficult to estimate. You might want to try and get a quote for a deferred annuity (a pension that starts at some point in the future - not sure if many insurers provide these on an individual basis) and compare it to a current quote. This might give you an idea of how insurance companies think annuity rates will change in future.

Thanks for this info, I didn't realise that you could get a quote on a deferred annuity, I will give that a try.Your second question is difficult to answer.
