I'm looking for a UK bank which has an international transfer (with IBAN and BIC) facility in their online banking. My Natwest and HSBC current accounts do not have this available meaning I must visit a branch to make an international transfer. My Norwegian and German bank accounts both have this facility.

I do have an OTC FX transfer account which I can make international transfers from online but this requires I first fund it from my UK bank and then use the transfer service to make the international payment. This two-step process is frustrating and time can be lost if things happen at the wrong time of day.

My transfer service does give much better rates than a counter service at a high street bank but the convenience and speed sometimes outweighs this. Preferably I would like a basic account (i.e. no fees) at a major UK bank.

Our Santander account allows us to make IBAN payments via an intermediary, all online.

It has a £300 faster payments limit before it goes to BACS though banghead

It's an account I've not logged into for quite some time but I definitely couldn't last time I looked. I accept they may have added it as a new feature which would be good as it means I wouldn't have to open another account.

My LTSB account has the option - never used it though as HiFX have offered better rates IMHO

I've just noticed it on mine too. I think it's been added (or made more prominent) as they've just updated their business online banking pages. You'll probably need to apply for it, or add it to your account.

Natwest online allows international transfers now (last couple of months) not sure if it meets your requirements (iban etc) as not tried it as they still want £20 off you to do it. So i use XE.com and FPS the money to them for free. booked a transfer to our us accounts at lunch time and the money was in our us accounts the following day. The only PTA is the transfer to XE requires the transaction no as the reference so you have to edit the payee in NW each time with your card reader thingy
