Is It possible? I am halfway through my 5 year fixed term which seemed a good idea at the time however id like bring my monthly payment down. The cancelations fees from the bank are the same as the saving i would make moving to a varible rate with them but obviously the payment fee would be upfront and the saving over the next 2 and a half years thus not worth it. Are there any options out there for switching and having the fee paid or a way out of the fee?

Hmmm, I think they are going to hold you to the Early Repayment Charge.
Have you discussed switching to a new fixed rate to see if they'll wave the fee?

Remember to take any application fee into account as that might cant your figures
