Evening all,
I'm supposed to be picking a car up tomorrow and they've asked for a utility bill as proof of address but I'm struggling to find anything. I own a house but am not living there at the moment as I'm renovating it so i'm currently living at my parents so all of my bank etc are there aswell as the finance for the car I'm buying, I don't recieve any statements at my mum and dads and all of my utility bills are at my address. All I have in my parents address is a 6month old bank statement, a very account statement and payslips with my address on are any of these likely to be ok or would I be wasting a 120mile trip?
If I get there and they aren't any good am I likely to be able to get anything from my bank to prove my address or will I have to wait for it to come through the post? I'm driving to france on friday and would like to have the car before I go for the missus to use while I'm away so would rather not wait a week for things to come through the post. My bank is natwest if that makes a difference

Give them a call and ask them to fax it to you. They can e-mail but you'll struggle to find anyone willing to do it

If you struggle pm me and I'll give you a phone number for someone helpful in the callcentre

looks like you need to get up at sparrows-fart in the morning, drive to your home, get the documents needed and drive back to collect car. knowing i.d. of home address is needed, the rest of us would get organised for such a simple task. heavens man, it's only 120 miles...get in the car now and go...you'll be back in bed by 2a.m. - job done!

I think you've missunderstood me the bills at my house are no use as they need to be addressed to my parents address to match where I actually live and all of the rest of my financial stuff otherwise I'd just pop in there on my way.

I think I'll have to just set off about half 7ish phone natwest en-route when they open and hopefully my proof of address will be waiting at the dealers when I arive cheers guys :-)

Does your driving license have the correct address on?

I recently had a similar thing with Mercedes who wanted a utility bill.
I pointed out that I don't get any as they are all electronic but they were happy with both parts of
my license as it has my address on it.
Yeah they wanted both parts of licence anyway which was at correct address aswell as a payslip I've never had to give this much info when financing a car before, vw + blackhorse both just accepted driving licence and handed over the car, I gave them the very bill in the end and they were happy with that so all sorted :-)
For the record though I popped into a natwest branch whilst waiting for them to approve my documents and they were able to give me a bank statement over the counter which would have been a life saver if they hadn't accepted the very bill.
