Received a council tax refund via chq but its in both mine and another persons name. Can this person sign over the chq to me or have those days of money laundering long gonesmile.

Because we dont have a joint account plus I pay the council tax.

Surely you can just bank it in your own account if your name is on it?

It has two names on because there where two adults in the property and on the account but I paid the bills.

I can back to the council but just wanted to know if they could sign the chq over to me purely for convienence.

Not necesarilly. You don't have to be married to have joint bank accounts.
