Looking to remortgage at the moment, ideally on a 5 year fixed. My current lender, Natwest, aren't the most competitive rate and fee wise but i'm wondering whether it would work out cheaper/easier to go with them once legal fees are taken into account.

Am i right in thinking that i won't have to pay for a solicitor if i stick with my current lender? I guess the decision depends on how much the legal fees would be if i did change provider. Ultimately i'll have to look into it in more detail, but though i'd ask on here in the mean time!

You are correct that you wouldn't need to pay solicitors fee's if you stay with your current lender.

Normally you'd expect solicitor fee's to be anywhere from £300-£500.

You could however try and find a product with another lender, who will pay the solciitor fee's for you. smile
