After a bit of advice / help please.
Just applying for a buy to let mortgage. Have good credit rating, no loans etc, etc.
Just been informed by mortgage advisor that apparently the mortgage company have found a £14k debt at a linked adress in a postcode I have never lived at, although this is very close to where I do live, about 2 miles. Nothing shows on my credit report and they will only give my advisor soo much info.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you
David

Have you tried all three agencies?

Experian, Equifax & Callcredit?

have now spoken to experian - have had to put previous address on as they can only discuss what is on your report, but the man did say he could see something and it should appear tomorrow when they update my report. how intriguing??!!

So is your previous address similar to this other address they are linking you to?
Have you ever had a debt of circa £14k in the past?

My previous address is just round the corner from where i live NN10.
The problem address apparently is NN9 again only about a mile from NN10 - strange.
No debt of that value springs to mind.

Could it be picking up someone that is or was financially linked to you? Maybe an ex partner, house mate or a child, that may now live in NN9?
