hi all,
just wondered what the opinion was of companies such as the devere group and their services?

particularly QROPS and their range of investment schemes. decent, or avoid?
i am in my first year as an expat and fortunate enough not to be paying tax at the moment. i am still young [31] and have 8yrs of UK pension payments behind me and own property in the uk but only just starting to save enough to warrant thinking about investing.
i've no end of companies here promising me the earth but wanted a little advice as to who is reputable and who to avoid. the last one i seriously looked at [can't remember the name but they were UK based] my lawyer friend advised me to avoid like the pague as all their fees came out upfront so the first couple of years i'd hardly be making a return.
any advice appreciated. i appreciate i have maybe been vague so also feel free to query.

They have not done well for a number of colleagues of mine, and will not stop phoning me despite being told many times not to. hey also introduced themselves as an official supplier to my company.... they were not and took a kicking for it. I cannot talk on here about their advice as it would constitute naming and shamingriffle king - any background reading to back up that ascertain? a good mate referred them to me so it'd be nice to warn him as well.

I'm also an expat and the expat website used by a lot of people here has frequent threads on that company. They very quickly get taken down as they threaten the website owners with legal action.
IMO the way they respond to what could be legitimate criticism reminds me of Scientology!

Honestly, the dealings I have had with them is unreal. Their pushy salesmen lie about who they are and also lie about how they got your details. Their products are not as competitive as others and there are also charges and fees associated, whereas others don't have these. If a mate got a job with them, I'd stop talking to him!
