With the news about the sale of lloyds (or part of) bank to the co-op how do you think it will impact on share prices? Up or down ?
What does everyone think about the long term prospects for shareholders?

It's all a bit of a joke to me. You wouldn'r really know what you invest in, it's all about the omni-potent goverment nationalising, re-selling, changing the rules and so on and so on... For those reasons I'm OUT (although apparently as a tax payer i'm in) wink

Its not really news though, its been brewing for a long time.

Imo barclays is the stronger bank, and with potential to recover the recent debacle, i do hold barclays shares although not a huge amount, have traded lloyds in the past 6 months with a little success.

It's the branches that are being sold off, not the bank.

The bank could close/sell all the branches and still be a massive concern.
