My card expired, I got a new one. No change in pin.

Card stops working a week later in chip and pin machines and only works with swipe machines. I order another.

New card works fine in shops (cant remember if I took cash from machines at all with it) then wont let me take money from cash machines. Apparently a new pin was sent out.

New card still works with old pin in shops.

Surely a security f up? I can get cashback with old pin and not get cash from mnachines. I know the cash machines read the magnetic strip and chip and pin read chip but it shouldn't matter IMO. I need to test if it works on any old machine. I remember reading that some card machines allowed any number in if you put in hash key before or after you enter. Madness.

Anyone know why this might be? The useless ahole said "the systems might not of caught up". WTF.

PS - At no point did I request a new pin it seems they have just decided to send a new one with my new card. I haven't got it as I am away from home at a different office.

TIA
