So with all the ads on telly and being cornered by salesmen in shopping centres, I have just lodged a formal complaint with Barclaycard as I have been paying this since 1988.

Can't remember how it was sold to me but as I was self-employed then and still am, I should have a case? Also I presume it's better to cut out the middle man and do this myself? or do the banks send the private individual on the runaround.

Just wondered as someone on another thread does mention that although Barclays agreed that he was owed £4.5k, he was still waiting for it 7 months later and that was back in March.

barclays have also agreed an amount they are to repay me for missold PPI, however...they have/are making it EXTREMELY difficult, so far I have returned 2 acceptance forms, the first by recorded delivery got lost in the post, the second also by recorded delivery was signed for their end then they lost it! They had the nerve to tell me on the phone that I should send the next one by normal delivery as it will go to the correct department!

Do you still have the paperwork? Have a look on that. If you have PPI on it, "loan insurance" or something similar will be mentioned on the paperwork.

If you have no paperwork or anything, you can submit a SAR (Subject Access Request). More info on that here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php...
