I was sold this some years ago - c10yrs (didn't have it for long c1-2yr). Was sold it through an IFA.

I have spoken to by bank to try and get all records showing the DD and then speak to the income protection company.

So: My bank couldn't provide my statements back past 5yrs. So i spoke to the income protection company who advised me I didn't have any cover. I know i did...

I have been told that my original mortgage offer will show these details. Is this the case and would the IFA have a copy of this?

I know its probably not in the hundreds but not far from it.

Ideas how i get proof?

Surely the first question to ask is; were you missold the PPI?

If you weren't, then should you be claiming?

This gets right up my nose. While I'm sure lots of people were mis-sold PPI this 'scandal' is doing more bad than good for this country and the FS industry.

Sorry to hijack this thread.

My bank have just written to mrsb telling her that they mis-sold ppi (she was not working at the time) and have made an offer.

Does anyone know how they should be calculating the settlement? The calculation they provide shows premiums repaid plus interest. Seems fair to me, but I wondered if there are rules?

(before people get on their high horses, the bank approached us about it, we have had other loans with ppi and have not made any moves to claim)
