I've got a cash ISA which I've paid a lump sum into and know the interest rate. I've also got an S+S ISA which I pay into monthly. I get a statement every six months which tells me how much its now worth but how do I work out the equivalent AER?

You need to total your annual returns for a starter. The work out what % that is of the net value.

Ok, so I know what the annual return is but as the capital is increasing every month I can't see how I can relate the return to an equivalent AER

What fund is it in? Just look up the stats for that fund online, will tell you the % rise/fall over 1/3/12months or over past years.
