Seeing a mortgage advisor early - any point?
Discussion
I popped into my bank yesterday and they told me there was a note on my file stating they would like to offer me a mortgage and to arrange an appointment with their mortgage advisor. I am about 4-5k short of where I would like to be deposit wise but I still have a decent amount and I should eat my target figure by march.
So, is there any point in arranging to meet with a mortgage advisor now, or shall I wait until I have 100% of my deposit?

Theres no harm in an informal chat but no point getting an AIP as the don't have a deposit yet and haven't found a property.
An AIP may only last 30-60 days so you'd need another one, meaning another credit search, which is what you want to avoid.
Also, a bank can only speak to you about their products, if you speak to someone independant (me
) they can give information from the majority of the mortgage market.
Good Luck
